CLARE VISITS MOTHERWELL BEREAVEMENT CHARITY

Updated: Dec 18, 2024

Founded in 2016, the Miracle Foundation supports bereaved children and young people in Lanarkshire.

The inspiration for the Foundation stemmed from founder Mariam Tariq’s own experience of loss, driving her to create a safe space for children and young people to heal from Trauma.

Through early intervention bereavement and trauma support, including counselling, art therapy, and mental health services, Mariam, her dedicated team, and volunteers have extended a helping hand and a unique service to thousands of families across Lanarkshire.

Ms Adamson, MSP for Motherwell and Wishaw:

“I have admired the work of the Miracle Foundation for many years.  Mariam’s drive for change is a lasting inspiration.

“She was my nomination for ‘local hero’ at the Scottish Parliament’s 25th anniversary celebrations.

“The Miracle Foundation offers support to any child or young person aged 4 to 19 and families who have experienced Trauma through one-to-one counselling support through Art Therapy, Play Therapy & Family therapy. The organisation delivers a 10-to-12-week block of sessions of Trauma support to each child or young person or family accessing their services.

“The Miracle Foundation is a beloved charity making a tangible difference to young people’s lives in Lanarkshire.”
