SNP MSP Clare Adamson is wishing pupils across Scotland the very best as exam season begins this week.
Ms Adamson is emphasising that there are many routes to success and fulfilment and there is ‘no wrong path’.
The MSP for Motherwell and Wishaw said:
““I want to give my best to every pupil for their exams. I know it can be a stressful time for everyone – including Mums, Dads, Carers, and teachers.
“I have been there myself and with my own family. But these exams do not define your future and there are many routes into careers and fulfilling your ambitions.
“For some, your journey won’t follow a ‘traditional’ route. Scotland is home to some of the world’s leading universities—renowned for excellence in STEM, research, life sciences, and the arts.
“But there is no single correct path. There are apprenticeships, vocational courses, and some incredible colleges. In my own Motherwell and Wishaw constituency, institutions like New College Lanarkshire are constantly expanding their offering with new courses.
“Expanding vocational courses and Foundation, Modern and Degree Apprenticeships has provided fantastic career opportunities. With apprenticeships, you can learn on the job and build practical experience while getting paid.
“I say it every year and every year it matters. Education is a right. Learning is a privilege and a lifelong opportunity. I wish you all the best in the upcoming exams and your next steps in life.
“Study hard but know that you will not be defined by the course of a few weeks. Embrace your own path to realising your potential.”
