ADAMSON HAILS NEWMAINS & DISTRICT GALA DAY

Clare Adamson MSP for Motherwell and Wishaw praised the efforts of the Newmains & District Gala Day organisers.
Newmains & District Gala Day has been bringing the community together for over 50 years. The Gala is a fun-filled day of parades, activities, and entertainment that’s a highlight in the local calendar.
The organising Committee works year-round to make each Gala Day a success. Despite the weather, there was a brilliant community showing and attendees took part in the wide range of activities on offer.
Ms Adamson said:
“I was delighted to attend the Newmains & District Gala Day. I want to commend the incredible efforts of the organising Committee.
“It is a small team which puts in a power of work every year to make sure the Gala Day is a wonderful community event.
“We were blessed with a typical Scottish summer’s day. The rain made its presence known but everyone was in brilliant spirits. The fun was not dampened at all!
“The gala court looked stunning as always. This is a high point in the calendar and I want to give a massive thanks to the organisers for their hard work.
“Whatever the weather, the spirit of this community shines through and I’ve no doubt preparations are already in full swing for 2026!”
