CLARE ADAMSON MSP ATTENDS CRER POLITICAL SHADOWING SCHEME GRADUATION AT SCOTTISH PARLIAMENT

SNP MSP for Motherwell and Wishaw Clare Adamson was present this week to congratulate participants in the political shadowing scheme organised by the Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights, in partnership with the Scottish Parliament.

The scheme, which was set up to address the under-representation of black and minority ethnic individuals in Scottish politics, allows participants to shadow an MSP and gain first-hand experience of their work at the Scottish Parliament.

Clare was shadowed by Ghazalla Hakeem, who received an award from the Presiding Officer Ken Macintosh MSP.

Commenting, Ms Adamson said:

“This scheme offers a fantastic opportunity to provide an insight into the work that we carry out at the Scottish Parliament.

I would encourage anyone from a BAME background who is interested in politics to contact CRER and get involved.

It is vitally important that the Scottish Parliament not only represents our population, but is representative of our population.”
